Hi Everyone,
I thought i start this thread so people can tell us or upload links to various software we can use for drawing/ drafting, calculations and anything else that might be useful in our distilling community. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

SolidWorks is a really good drawing tool, insanely expensive though

Wasnt someone on here making an app for smart phones?

That's right,but not for iPhone,didn't have a mac,who was that?

yeh ya right Mac, a calculator of sorts if I recall

I use turbocad , but its out dated now and extremely user unfriendly, its the same as autocad
had it about 12 yrs and was fucking expensive then, it took that long to learn to drive it too :angry-banghead:

You get 10 uses with the trial version though, and since I have an alcometer calibrated at 60F (15.5C), while every single temp correction chart and calculator is for 20C, I am making my own temperature correction chart in excel. Alot of manual effort though, only halfway done with a couple of free uses left.

Until then I'll be a tight-arse and use my Alcodens trial version and homemade chart ;-)

Here is a very small program, its a free beer recipe designer. It has a built in calender to keep track of things, and it also has a built in timer window used for a boil timer, a mash timer and a stopwatch. You can create your own database of all your recipes, so you can keep track of your best brews.

Here is another program I found for you beer brewers. Its an evaluation version and is 8.4mb, the full version is $24.95US, and its a similar program to BeerSmith. The ProMash program is commercial software designed for the experienced brewer.

I have not checked any of these for viruses, so make sure you scan them prior to installing.

I nearly forgot about this one, I think you will find it very useful. Brewtarget is a free open source application built for Linux, Mac, and Windows that helps users create and manage beer recipes. It implements BeerXML and is therefore compatible with Beersmith, the download is 11.4mb.

Here is another little program I completely forgot about that I used years ago, its a very small conversion software program that coverts just about anything. I think most of you will find it very handy indeed. You may need a program like Winzip to extract this file to be able to use it, however your version of Windows or Mac should have a program built-in that should work. Its a torrent site. Ive been downloading from the site for a while now. Some antivirus will block access, its up to the individual if they want to have a look at the programs.

I have been using Sketch Up (by Google). It is a really good piece of drawing software with dozens of How To videos on every thing you would want to draw. There is a library of completed models you can download and change to suit what ever you are drawing. There is a free version and a paid pro version for the guys that want to export DWR & PDF files for Water Jet cutting parts out etc.
