If you doing rum leave head room cause it will most likely puke. Are you going to double distill I would highly recommend it..especially with rum :-B

Will absolutely work in the little pot, but I'd be very wary of filling more than 3L of rum wash into the 4L AirStill as it'll foam up and puke! Definitely use the boil chips and conditioner too.

With the air still the condenser tube it is very hard ta clean and rum can be a dirty wash ,so I would rinse that straight after each run to stop crap inside it drying up and building up and potentially blocking it or effecting the cooling capacity for the worst.cheers hillzabilly ;-)

I wanted to give the thread a bump.
When I search "Air Still" I get no hits, so I was going all the Pot Still posts and saw this.
I just bought a Vevor 750 Watt Water Distiller with the programmable temperature control.
I know that's not the same as an adjustable power control, but we will see.
And I am interested in playing with Rum, so as I said, wanted to give this a bump and see if anyone is doing Air Still Rum in 2025.

Shit yeh I am lol I only have an air still, and have done a couple of rum washes I use 3x 30 ltr fermenters and source my molasses from a local at place in 3kg tubs keeps the mess down then I just get 3 small jars/tubs from supermarket to get my molasses volume up, the tried and proven section here is good and marcum is an absolute winner, it does stink the house out though lol
