I did seek some newbie advice so thanks Andrew and woody.

1.6ltrs heads which I discarded first liter of that into weed killer bottle as well

Rob - i would suggest keeping the heads (and the tails) in a feints container - throw them back into the next spirit run to increase your heads volumn the next run.
OR
keep feints until you have enough to do a feints run. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised by the volumn increase you will get of actual heads.
only throw away the fore shots. ;-)

Thanks woody, did both stripping runs on Sunday I have 10 ltrs of wash left so I will belt down another ffv wash during the week and grow that. Bwko might be ready to strip this weekend depending on its mood lol. Il do one more generation of bwko that should finish off the corn and il jump on some rum for abit.

Hi all, probly a basic question but here goes, so the 2” fsd pot still is going great, I have 2x4ltr gin macerations on the go, so instead of doing 2 runs in the airstill if I wanted to do 1 run in the 35ltr digiboil I’m thinking I would strain off botanicals dump the 8 ltrs into boiler, put copper in line as I do with spirit run then as per Odins way just take off 10ml or so then would I just take 400ml per ltr as usually done in airstill?
Do I run it hard like stripping run or use power controller and have it come out like spirit run or just do 2 runs in airstill,
Any help in the right direction greatly appreciated.

Definitely run it slow via the power controller mate.
Even slower than your normal spirit run on other washes. That’s how us plebes without an airstill do it :laughing-rolling:

to be sure what we're dealing with, you've mascerated botanicals in good ethanol/hearts off a reflux spirit run?

if so, i don't think there is any reason to run it slow at all.
i have a 5L glass vessel for the final run after masceration, i run it at full power.(with the botanicals in)
there's no heads/tails/fores?

Hearts off a pot still spirit run , yes been macerating for 7 days on the bench stirred twice a day, only difference being I’m thinking of running it through the 2” pot still instead of 2 airstill runs.

i don't think there's any need for copper in the path either, you've done all the hard work. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

if the boiler is a digiboil (?), it has concealed elements so putting the lot in (inc botanicals) should be ok, but it's up to you.
8L of stuff means you'll be collecting about 3.2L (8 x 400mls odins method), so you'll have 4.8L left in the boiler, which should be plenty to prevent scorching.

I always strain the botanicals out . First run I did I left them in the boiler but ended up with little bits stuck in the seam connecting the walls with the base , absolute pain to clean .
I also take a small heads cut and make small cuts of around 100ml on small runs.
And out of habit I always leave the copper in the vapor path
