You can reduce the column to 2" and connect to the keg with a tri clamp. The standard ferrule can hold a bubbler so it will have no worries with your pot still. Or you can get a 4" ferrule welded to the top of your keg. What size is your current liebig condenser? My old one was 1" over 3/4" and it could handle 4800W which is a fair bit of heat. Realistically your goi g to want less than 2400w of heat on a spirit run so your current one will handle that. I reckon you should use your current one untill you can build yourself a shotgun.

My current is 1" over 1/4" I use gas and the burner is Italian spiral so heat isn't an issue.
I don't understand how If I used the same condenser from my 2" pot on my new 4" the run would be quicker. The way I see it is the condenser can only cool the vapor at the same rate.
I could make a shotgun but I want my new rig to strip and spirit run to speed up running times.

Is it true that a shotgun is only used for stripping.
I'm after a still for stripping and spirit running.
So not sure if to go down the shotgun path.
I have some 2inch here aswell.
So the Liebig could be 1 and half inch inside 2"?

I don't think the shotgun condenser is limited to stripping only.

It's much more efficient, so much more effective at knocking down those high powered strip runs.

But I don't see how there'd be a problem for spirit runs...I run a shotgun on my rig and it gets used for both. Unless there's a problem with your distillate coming out too cool :wtf:

The way I see it, any condenser is fine for a spirit run...but a shotgun would be recommended on strip runs where you have over 2400W at hand.

Ok cool so would a 2" or a 3" shotty be best on a 4" pot.
And also would it be best to spirit run with the same size shotty, a new 2" over 1 and 1/2" Liebig or use my 1 inch over a 3/4 Liebig that's on my 2" pot.
I have copper available just after the quickest producer + better product.
