http://smartenergysystems.com.au/shome/ ... Copper.pdf Would you call that generic prices?
And does this set up seem right .
1 meter 2" copper
1 meter 3/4 copper
1 2" 90degree bend
1 2" - 3/4 reducer
1 3/4 90 degree bend
according to that price list $120 give or take.

And lets say for theory to save a few dollars at the start, is there any difference apart from cosmetic issues using plastic 2 bends and clear hose for the outer of the leibig
such as http://www.artisan-distiller.net/phpBB3 ... 945#p58945

How long should my liebig extend for appropriate condensation.
How how should my 2" raise from keg,
what angle should my leibig be at

Cheers

Hi Zwagerman

Just like to put my cents in. Pm 5Star. I started to have a bit of a play with making one in the end it worked out cheaper to get the lot and start with a well made system. I am now going to start on another idea but I have one system going ful steam ahead.

Hello Rae,

Happy to assist where we can on build, mtls, tips, use etc but Hagrid makes a valid point especially as you mentioned no background/tools.

Building your own is not hard nor does it require much in terms of tools ect it's both frustrating in the design stage but immensely satisifying once using it.

let us know how your thinking and we'll go from there.

cheers

Just after some help with the 3/4 3pc S/S union do you solder the brass fitting on or use teflon tape.

Cheers

Solder the brass fitting to your copper, and use teflon in the thread between the stainless and brass.

I agree stay away from the tin. SS or copper only. Go cheap on the first one. Craigslist find you a 15.5 /50L stainless keg. Cheap and don't get in a hurry. You can find a pot still on a distilling webiste for $100. Operate on propane unitll you figure out what you are doing and if that this is for you. IF it is maybe electric and maybe something more elaberate on the still side. Sell your 1st or keep it. Ferels on the keg are great and you can't have enough so later find you a person that can weld and go for it. 4 inch on the side makes it easier to clean. My spelling is bad and my so is my english. Pic says a 1000 words.

Most def xtra one on top. Bigger the better. 4 inch so you can get some cleaning from the top and fill it with out taking column off
