So I buy the bullet today after a ridiculous amount of deliberation and at least 5 mind changes. Went to trade link and bought
1m of 2"
3m of 1/2"
A 2" 90 degree elbow
Reducers

Going to modify the 2" pot my mate and i built that's based off a HD design and make it modular with plans to use it down the track with 4x 4" fsd bubble plate Ts. I have a 4-2 reducer for my keg mount and a pile of other goodies coming from fsd (thanks Sue) such as tri clamps etc so the keg build is sorted and I'm pretty sure I have everything now to get this done. Keg will have an fsd 2400 element and a second element port blanked with a clamp and plate ready for a second later on. As I read somewhere Zak said Future Proof it! 4" mount and 4" sg/fill port and 11/2" butterfly valve drain. At some stage I'll wrk out a controller, been reading threads and am just super confused, electrickery is evil.

A few questions I have.
1. I only have a pipe cutter so should I buy some plate for the ends of the shotgun? Or is there a way I can cut a section of the 2" off and split it/flatten it and use it that way? I've read that guys do that I'm just not certain how to achieve it.
2. I don't have any 1/4 for easy flanges as I could only buy it in length or coil at tradelink so I didn't wirry. Can I use half inch? I'll have 500mm left over after the 5 internals of the shotgun.

That's pretty much it!

Look forward to the build mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:
By future proofing your boiler its money well spent.

You can run a cut off disc down one side of the 2inch, then aneal the plate. Which makes it go nice and soft.
While you flatten it out you will notice the copper getting harder, this is due to metal work hardening. This process can be repeated to aneal again if you require it.

You do need to use 1/4 inch. Try and locate some at the scrapys or refrigeratuon out fits :handgestures-thumbupleft:

And always take plenty of pics to load to your build thread :D

Ok sweet thanks Rum. I'll organise some 1/4". Could I hacksaw down the side of the pipe to split it? And should I just use a hammer with a wood dolly to thump it flat?

And lastly, you think the design is ok for modular? Thinking I can basically just lift the top off and chuck it on a reducer above the rc and bubbles when I'm ready

Yes x3 :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Cut a slot down your spare 2" about 70mm long, then cut that 70mm piece off the end. Give it a good blast with the torch and flatten it out.

Have a scrounge for some 1/4", or maybe someone local has some spare. If you get stuck I can flick you a couple of ready made rings.

Update. 5* came through with the goodies so my welder mate now has

50l keg
4" still mount ferule
4" sg
2x 2inch element ports
1" drain valve

I have everything I need to start from my end, just working like a dog as my Boss (restaurant owner) is building a brand new restaurant for me to run in 5 weeks.
Hope to get it going on my first day off in a while Wednesday.

Make sure your mate the welder, places the 4inch ferrules far enough apart :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Shit good call Rum! I'll call her. I told her to cut off half the rail so I'll tell her to put it right near the edge to! Thanks mate

Might pay to drop around the clamps and whats attaching to each ferrule.
The fill port only needs to be a fraction too close and its a pain in the arse big time.
Trust me im reminded everytime I do a run :angry-banghead:
