Hey all,

Here is my first pot still build.
It's a 2 inch column into 1 inch Lyne arm into 1 inch over 1/2 inch Liebig 700 mm long
Standard keg boiler heated by 4 ring gas burner


It's pretty rough I know but I plan to upgrade the boiler to electric soon and give it a bit more of a clean up

I've already done a vinegar run and sacrificial grog run so its ready to go, I've got a 150 litre rum wash cooking away right now and I can't wait to get stuck into it!!!

I also made a parrot!

Needs a good clean up and I'm planning to just cut a piece of pallet board for a base, bore a tight fitting hole and just belt the parrot into it ( couldn't find any copper plate locally and I don't want to wait for an online order)

Looks absolutely splendid fishleg.

You'll make some top notch spirits with that rig.

Cut a piece of 1" pipe just over an inch long. Split down the middle, heat til red all over, bend flat, cut 1" circle & solder to base.

Will you have something supporting the condenser once you have the weight of the hoses hanging from it? Looks pretty skinny at the bend on the arm.

I've had it running with water going thru the condenser pretty hard and it supports itself but it is a bit wobbly.
I was thinking about just knocking up a little adjustable stand like a car axle stand out of mild steel.

Also maybe consider removing the bend in the parrot outlet, looks like it will be very hard to fit a collection jar under it.
Unless you plan to sit your boiler on top of a bench or something.

Just cut it to suit your standard collection jar height when you've put a base on it :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yeah might be a bit long, I did a rough mock setup with a jar and everything and left it a bit long on purpose
I thought better to have too much than not enough
