6 inch strippa, the Big Pricks brother

Postby jdonly1 » Sun Sep 08, 2013 9:39 am

Today is the big day :D
My brother has been a busy boy and has made a 6 inch stripping still over the last week. Its fitted to a 315l copper boiler....
Today is its first run, hoping it will put out in excess of 20l per hour :handgestures-thumbupleft: Hope we can get all our washes stripped today,400 litres in total :teasing-neener:
The way we are going we should only need to have 1 stilling day a year :D
Here is a pic and will keep the updates coming with output amount etc

geez,

that's a fair beast

One stilling day per year? More like a few hours ...bloody hell that's belting it out... what you use for collecting 50lt kegs.. :D

I'd run out of storage after a few hours!

30L an hour. so if there were a 300L @ 10% you would strip it all in like 2 hours?

Not quite mate, quite a bit of heat up time involved :handgestures-thumbupleft: and 30 litres is pushing it to the max with the cooling we have available.
20 to 22L per hour is comfortable :D
We ended getting 300 litres stripped, still not to bad for a day

That's an awesome set up for fast stripping.
I totally agree with the concept of big runs when time is precious
