1/4" is too small mate... And do you really want to be collecting on the ground?

Go a shotty :)

I agree with Zac, 1/4" to small.,you'd be better off with 18 metes 3/4" then into the 1/2"

Still think you got seriously shafted.

Shotty would be more practical but I love where you are going with this ....can't wait to see it done :D

Now use 50l Keg with Pot head for Rum and Neutral stripping runs on gas .
LM/VM head with 1m packed 2" on Still Spirits boiler for Neutrals.

yeah... a shotty would be more practical.. but i have this grand design in my head of how im going to have it set up, just got to try and get it out.. :angry-banghead: when im done its gonna be one hell of a set up

i got it wrong, just looked at my quote i am going 3/4 - 1/2"

6mt x 2" pipe $175

18mt x 3/4" Soft coiled pipe $150

18mt x 1/2" Soft coiled pipe $90

do these prices sound about right??

Well those come to a total of $415, and then theres all the elbows/reducing tee/reducers/joiners that make up another $160
so that makes it $575... close enuf to $600...

ive already spent a bit getting it all welded together plus a bit more for the elements and fittings from 5SD.. so might aswell keep spending...
atleast with this hobby the gear im making will last a life time

Yeah that price is better ...thought Bunnings might have been cheaper on thier Kembla annealed coil but they are dearer .

If you have a Tradelink store ,definitely check them out for fittings ,they are way cheaper than Reeces ( sometimes up to 4x )but way dearer on pipe

BTW , I like the 44 gal idea :handgestures-thumbupleft: will it be plastic ,steal or a wooded barrel

Try Samios plumbing near parafield airport. They were shit loads cheaper than any one of the chains.

Yeah.. Thinking of going with a old wine barrel so it looks the part :D but dunno yet as I'm making up a bench to sit it all on so it's up off the ground.. And I don't have to bend down too much.. :)) and the barrel might be too heavy.
I don't get to Adelaide that often, and I'd rather shop local and support local businesses, if I did go to Adelaide to buy it all I might save a $100-150 but then gotta pay for fuel ne way.. So would almost even it self out...

I reckon I'd use one if I didnt need to move my gear around, it'd look pretty cool all polished up with that copper pot in the corner of the pool room :D

Yeah... I'm lucky I guess the old man gave me a old shed(with power and rain water connected) that I'm doing up(insulating), so once I have it all set up it will stay that way,
And I can have all my 200lt fermenters, ageing barrels and ingredients in ther so that its all in the one place.. Lucky we live on a farm too... :-D free barley/oats/wheat/lupins.. :happy-partydance:

Looking good Kane! I take it the two holes at the base are for electric elements?
