Liebig size?

Postby Hardie355 » Wed May 27, 2015 6:16 am

Hi Guys,

I'm making a liebig for my 2" pot and was wondering what length you reckon it should be to knock down 2400w flat out for a strpping run.
I have plenty of copper was thinking 1" over 1/2" about 800mm long or should I go 1" over 3/4" 1000mm long?
Any advice would be much appreciated

Cheers

I went 1" over 3/4 about this 600 long and its more than enough for 2000w. (I only just need to crack the tap open a fraction )

how was the volume flow rate? Ive read a longer liebig can slow things down. For example when you blow through a straw its ok but the longer you make it the more restricted it feels and you need more and more power to keep the same flow rate the longer it is.

Not a problem. Even with 10m of garden hose running to my water tank.

When I was building 2" pot stills for members the liebig was 1" over 3/4" x 700mm long :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Is it worth belting a few dents along the 3/4 for a bit of turbulence?

I did a spiral of dents but i really think it doesn't matter. Also i did a spiral of a solder rod on the outside of the 3/4
