2" Pot spirit run

Postby twobottles » Sat Aug 15, 2015 1:36 pm

Hi There,

Its been pouring with rain here in NZ and that's given me a great chance to do a spirit run on 20litres of CFW at40%.

After quite a few teething problems with the still its properly up and running now, I haven't done a spirit run for ages it seems. Certainly not since I decided to quit work and go back to college about 6 months ago.

Im collecting 1.5 litres per hour on just about the lowest setting I've ever used the gas on, so....... I think I have been running the reflux on too much heat in the past.

Can I go a bit faster? Ive read about toothpick streams and that's what I think I have,

The pic of the output looks good to me :handgestures-thumbupleft:

If you run your burner any less a mouse might fart and blow it out :laughing-rolling:

Hey bloke, not really relater to your run, but watch the regulator on those burners. Have one myself and after about 30 runs it started leaking gas between the 'circle thingy' and part that screwed into the gas bottle. 18$ for a new one when it starts :handgestures-thumbupleft:
