Modular still educate me!

Postby captainmorgan36 » Thu Mar 10, 2016 7:35 pm

Hi, can someone clarify for me are all of 5 starts modular still components able to be slowly added together over time to make an ever improving still?

For example can you buy the 2" pot still and the add a reflux condenser in the column as well as at a later to date so that you can distill neutrals like vodka as well as rum and whiskey with the plain still?

Also buy the looks of it the 2" pot still is dismantable, should you want to store it away can you confirm this?

Also do you reckon that 5 star would send me a dismantled 2" pot still? It says on the website comes as pictured. I ask because I am never at home to receive parcels from 9-5 or to go to the post office. I use a parcel locker for just about all my packages, would the 2" pot still disassembled fit in to a box 38 x 35 x 63 CM or smaller?

I know I could call up tomorrow, but I hoped to get some answers this evening!

Thanks

Captain

If u want to go that way, buy the 4" modular pot still (I just did) and then add on to that.

Is the 4" pot still a 2"-4" , 4"-2" (reducer) then 2 x 90 degree 2" bends, a 2" product condenser, a 2" - 3/4" reducer and then a parrot?

If so then an upgrade would mean that the 2' 2" pipe that came with the 2" would be obsolete. You would need to by 2 x 4" - 2" reducers, some clamps, seals and a parrot costing an extra $320 ish + $340 for the 2" pot still is $660 vs $585 to but the 4".

Is that correct?

The ultimate FSD still is the Neutraliser .... If that is what you want to work towards then start off with the 4" modular pot as this contains the same components as the neut. you just need to gradually add 5 plates and a packed section :handgestures-thumbupleft: :scared-eek:

Basically mate if you buy the pot still all you need to buy to make it a bubbler is all 4" plate sections and the RC, everything you already bought will be used :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Been beaten to it :laughing-rolling:
