packing in 2" column

Postby howard » Fri Oct 23, 2020 12:45 pm

i am fitting a voltage controller to my boiler so i will be able to control the 1900w element.
so i am planning on my next reflux run with a slightly different setup.
the 2"column has been increased from 500mm to 1100mm between boiler and RC.
i have 4 x rolls of FSD copper mesh from 500g roll, each approx 100mm in length, that fit well in the 2" column.
i also have heaps of S/S scrubbies.
so i could put all 4 x copper rolls (400mm) in and totally fill the other 700mm with scrubbies, but i think it may be too much packing.
maybe just 2 rolls of copper, 700mm of scrubbies & 200mm empty.
i am interested to know the best combination of copper/scrubbies/empty.
obv copper at the top, then scrubbies, then some space?

:text-+1: you can't have too much but you can have it too tight so be careful. You should be able to blow though it freely once packed :handgestures-thumbupleft:
