Pure distilling reflux still

Hey guys
Weird issue and not sure why it's doing it.
With the ball valve closed I have liquid flowing up to high and coming out where the coil comes out to connect water.
Just wondering if this would be a temperature issue? The probe is reading 80dg.

Welcome to the forum , nice of you to drop in.
I can’t help with your issue but it’s customary to drop into the welcome centre to say gday and tell us a little about yourself .
Cheers
Actually I know exactly it’s happening , I’ll tell ya later

Hey mate
Sorry actually didn't realise I hadn't. I joined last year and swore I had already done the intro.
Obviously I must have just read everything I could and forgot to.

As for my problem it is so bed for now. Just can't fully close the ball valve.

OK, so there are 3 reasons you will get vapour coming out the top.
1 - not enough cooling
2 - keeping valve closed too long
3 - any combination of the 2 above

Oh, i forgot.
2.5 - too hot at the boiler if your running a digiboil or something similar

:text-+1:
yup - i ran a 65 litre digiboil boiler at 2500 watts, not realizing the 2" RC is only rated to 1900 watts once boiler gets upto temperature.
I did manage to run it at 2000 watts, but I turned up the water flow to the cooling.
