I’m wondering if someone who has a pink gin that is there go to would be willing to share the botanical list please?

Where you after the flavour profile or the colour Rob.

Hey Stig do you know where you can the different colour stripe colours, with the footy season coming up some would be great to make some yellow and brown striped gin. :laughing-rolling:

Sure just ask at the Woolies service desk for the Queens multi color stripe special edition , usually comes out around Mardi Gras time

Flavour I reckon, thanks mr messy il check it out just something about little different, I have macerated blueberries before in the gin maceration came out not bad, I suppose il just do the same with some strawberries and raspberries .

I make a regular dry gin, then add strawberries and lemon or lime peel overnight for a nice fresh pink/ strawberry gin.

This is what I use at the distillery


Juniper berries
Coriander seed
Angelica root
Orris root
Dry Lemon peel
Dry Orange peel
Cassia bark
Liquorice root
Pink peppercorns
Dried rose petals

Thanks josh2008, apart from the rose petal that’s how I make my gin, not always licorice root. So do the rose petal give colour & flavour?
Looks like I better go prune the neighbours gardens.

Yeah it gives it a floral and light sweetness.

We used to do a mix of Hibiscus & rose. Just don’t leave them in too long. It’s easy to over do it.

just to be clear, how do you use the rose petals (mascerate/vapour path etc) or infuse afterwards?
i saw some dried rose petals in the local HBS recently :think:

We soak them in finished product then filter pedals out.
