Pi (sorry don't have the pi symbol on my phone, its the funny looking one like 2 T's together) =/is 3.1416. So when you see the pi symbol replace it with 3.1416.

does that make sence?

When forming these whats the best way to go about it, so they dont end up looking like they were run over by a truck? Get a set of sheet metal rollers the way to go? :-B

how much do you anneal your copper bluc? you will find if you get it red hot and i mean real hot you can bend and manipulate it with your fingers and get it fairly right.

from there a few small taps or even pushes with the fingers around a pipe will work, even a 1/2" pipe or hard drawn copper. if it hardens while working it with fingers hit it again with some heat to bright red and then go again and it will be easy as to bend the copper. anneal as many times as needed. when i started annealing i didnt go to red hot and had trouble flattening and bending copper but once i did go red hot it was sooo easy to bend the copper with a finger. i always go red hot now as in brazing temps or hotter

another bump

with the prices of copper fittings coming close to the price of gold :scared-eek: , these types of tutorials ARE Gold! :handgestures-thumbupleft:

with pipe being the most cost effective way to get copper  , being able to make easy flanges, reducers, and create good soldering skills, building stills becomes well within the reach of almost anyone. :music-deathmetal:

A big THANK YOU to all those who contribute these tidbits of knowledge!
