I think a 10 or 20 litre is more than enough just to get my legs on the ground at first. 8-}

Roll out the barrel, just north of brissy somewhere. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hmm... I wonder if they'd do a group buy or a do it yourself day.....

Not yet.... but being so niche, I'm not sure they'd be receptive. May help fill the order books if things are quiet tho. :think:

Is there any other forum members that are honestly interested in trying to organise a bulk order for oak barrels to see if that brings the price down? Before purchasing one anyway.
I am serious to buy, who else is genuinely serious about rolling one home? 8-}

Ordered a ten litre barrel last night from the same guy as you, bluc. Might have to get a bigger one as well :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Not much use getting one unless you've got something to fill it with, CR. The wood will shrink if it's kept dry & you'll have leakage...

I'm interested. I've asked a place in the US for a shipping quote, as the barrels are quite cheap, but may not work out that much better than the locals. I'll post a thread if it looks decent.

Try these guys - Gold Coast somewhere.. We just bought 7 barrels for the family and got a bulk order discount. We getting a custom iron stand made up with them as well to fit three barrels on it. Will post a pic on the forums when it arrives! They have other sizes not mentioned on the site too:

Got mine, well happy.
About to dump first water fill & refill with warm water until I get me some sherry (port?) tomorrow. Even though there's no leaks now. Planning to fill with MacWhisky after the sherry seasoning. Will be ordering more from this bloke, great quality.
Can get him on email : qldcooper@live.com.au
Or just search oak barrels on eBay, or seller name "cooper creations "
