Hi all got a question on water recirculating i am using a aqua pump 6000l/h 85w with max head height of 5m in a 240l barrel the water goes in the inlet fine but only comes out the outlet of a rate at 700ml per minute anyway can i get it to come out faster thank you.
The flow rate will depend on the amount of restriction in the pipes will cause and water or liquid can only flow at a certain max rate thru a hole. So if your inlet pipe to your air still is say only 1/4" then it will restrict the flow big time. I use a 12 volt flojet pump that over 20 years old and still working nicely and I use 1/2" ag pipe for the still connections. Now I can run the pump at 30% and still get enough cooling for my still so basically depending on the sized pipes you have will dictate the flow rate :handgestures-thumbupleft:
equipment: 4" copper bubbler with a setup for Neutral and a thumper for Whisky and my old 5 litre pot for doing maceration runs and MiniMe the baby pot still

What size pipe are you using? I have a 25w pump that does alot better than that. I use 15mm fittings and 13mm hose.
Keep the hose length as short as you can.
I'm guessing it's a submersible... Lift your pump up so it's in the middle of the barrel. And or lift the barrel higher (Less head = more flow) That pump is rated at 6000L/h at 0m head.
If you really want to see if it is the pump or the hose. Try connecting your set up to the garden hose and measure the output rate. If that is similar to when using the pump then the issue is not the pump but rather a blockage or too long a hose or a combination of all the issues
