Hey all. I'm Rocket or Rozza to my old school mates.. I live in Bunbury with my son whom I have sole care. I started brewing beer and now spirits as a reward to myself for quitting smoking.
I started with a few fermenters and 2x 19L kegs for my beer and am onto my 2nd batch. 1st was bloody nice straight off. Anyway I have always wanted to try making my own spirits and dove in making the massive mistake of not researching for myself and going on the information the guys in the brew shop gave me..
Because of this bogus advice i lashed out and spent the buck on the T 500 still. Now a decision I regret knowing what i have since learnt here. But too late now. I will make the best of what I have now and soldier on.
I started 2 washes to begin. The turbo pure triple still yeast as it is there top product and a 24 hour turbo yeast as i was foaming at the mouth to fire it up.
I finished the 24 hour job after 3 days then settled it and run it through the t500. I was actually impressed with the product when I flavored it with American bourbon. I ran the 50% through the carbon filter 3 times though. So i then used that fermenter to do my first tomato paste wash. And will see what happens. .
Anyway thanks for having me and i appreciate the information i have already learned here.
HAPPY HOUR..
