No mate

He is a bit of a recluse and lives in the hills
Totally off grid.

Asked me to make booze for him...
Of course I refused.

So offered him Steampunk and to teach him.
Sold....

Have put a wash down for him and will teach him the basics of good distilling.
Older gent not in a rush and willing to learn a new hobby.

While I'll miss the 4" there is little matter of getting a boiler up and running for Steampunk 2. ;-)
Considering the ribbing I got trying to fit a 6" still on a 50ltr keg. :teasing-neener: :teasing-neener:

So a new boiler is on my hit list now I'm able.
Stay tuned. :D :D

Arrrrhhh sorry boys but no

The new boiler is just a bit dull

Bought an extended 6" ferrule, sight glass and drain fitting from Mac some months ago

Got a local bloke to do some welding and this is what he came up with.

Now I need the elements and a few other bits to finish it.

Wish it was as cool looking as the one you've suggested ...

Cheers

Hey Zak

You can fit an element in either end and they won't touch.... I've measured it. :D

Hang in there a bit longer and see how it runs when I get it all together....

Because the heating elements will be in the centre of the keg, my only worry is that they may get exposed toward the end of the run...
But I don't think that will happen
Only building it and trying will prove me right or wrong.

Always good to learn from others mistakes .. :D :D :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I've got 2 18 gallon kegs, I might make one of each :teasing-tease:

I won't be building my boiler until the arse end of this year, at least... I'll see how you go first :handgestures-thumbupleft:

It's a nice sized boiler for a 6" rig if you like quick runs :handgestures-thumbupleft:
